Time to wake up!
Does it not bother you that our freedoms, one by one, are being stripped from us? That camera surveillance is becoming more and more prevalent? That our freedom to choose whether or not we are tracked, recorded or surveyed is diminishing by the day? That (according to the government) we now have NO CHOICE whether or not to consume something they want us to?
Do you really think medical insurance is the beginning and end of intrusive government mandates?
Not too long ago, freedom, the kind unfathomable to most and a fuzzy memory to few, existed.
Can you recall that time?
Have you notice a trend in modern US lawmaking?
"You gotta have a permit to build that."
"You need a license to fish in this lake."
"You can’t swim here."
"You can’t walk there."
"You WILL buy this or else."
Yesterday, you could do this, but today? Oh no, today you can’t.
Just like that.
…and we accept it!
The higher-up’s that we elected continue to shorten the leash, notch by notch, just slowly enough that most can’t be pulled from their favorite TV show and placed into lucidity long enough to notice they are suffocating.
Do you want to live in an Orwellian world?
Better yet, do you want your kids to?
I don’t want to be force fed chocolate-dipped bullshit by the money-rich, power-hungry fat heads in DC.
I don’t want to be brainwashed into thinking that they have my best interest in mind.
I don’t want to be observed, contained, suppressed, and controlled by them like one of their farm animals.
I won’t be.
I want my kids to know what it truly means to live freely, and to experience real freedom of choice.
I want my kids to live in a world where life is everything, money is nothing, and happiness is a mountaintop view at sunrise - not seeing it on a big-screen TV.
Republicans, Democrats, Net-Neutrality, the NSA, Obamacare - I don’t care what the details are - I find it embarrassingly easy to see the big picture through all the smoke and mirrors.
We are marionettes and they, manipulators.
In Ukraine, as I type this, there are people fighting for what they know is right.
They are making noise.
They are showing resistance.
…and it’s working!
Just like our parents, and our parents’ parents - from the Civil Rights Movement to the Vietnam War, we have to say something to be heard. It’s working for LGBT rights, so why stop there? When it comes to our government surveilling, recording, and controlling us, it’s our turn to fight for what we know is right.
